The playful melodies on this summer's hit "Mango Pickle Down River," will have you dancing around the office. The London-born Sri Lankan rapper-singer-political artist specializes in a wonderous new kind of world music -- a global sound clash complete with a perfect balance of imagination and invention. This song is definitely on 'repeat' on the i-pods of hipsters trekking around town this summer; featuring a group of aboriginal kiddie rappers known as the Wilcannia Mob, the song comes complete with a droney didgeridoo that makes for one of the most groovey and unconventional bass lines of 2007!

Artist, Heather Jansch Artist Heather Jansch was born in Essex in 1948 and studied fine art at Walthamstow and Goldsmiths College in London. Jansch has always had a passion for horses and it is this passion that led her to buy a hill farm in Wales. Having spent several reclusive years breeding Welsh cobs, she then set out to establish herself as a successful painter - a period she describes as her "apprenticeship." Taking a sabbatical from commissioned work, she moved to Devon in 1980. Eventually however, wanting to sculpt again, she was drawn back to her roots: the horse. Her earliest pieces of wire and plaster are reminiscent to pieces by Giacometti; followed by her series in copper wire -- reminiscent to Da Vinci's drawings. Yet, they still did not possess the unique quality she was seeking. You're probably wondering, "How is this art 'green?"

From the acclaimed author of The Epicure's Lament, comes a grand new novel of literary contention in which two competing biographers collide in their quest for the truth about a great artist.

Oscar Feldman, the "Great Man," is a New York city painter of the heroic generation of the 40s and 50s. Rather than focusing on abstract canvases like Pollock and Rothko, he stubbornly holds to painting one subject alone—the female nude. Upon his passing in 2001, he leaves behind a wife, Abigail, an autistic son, and a sister, Maxine, herself a notable abstract painter.

Now you can easily do your part to help cut America's dependence on fossil fuels, including foreign oil by choosing the type of power you purchase. In NY this can be achieved by selecting GREEN Power and WIND Power from ConEdison Solutions.
  • GREEN Power is composed of 65% run-of-the-river hydro and 35% wind power(generated from regional wind and low-impact hydropower sources).
  • WIND Power is composed of electricity exclusively generated from 100% wind power.
